News Update

Board of Directors

  • The 2022 AGM was held on June 25 to adopt the auditor’s report, appoint new auditor and elect Board members. Before and after the AGM there were meetings of the current and new Board respectively.


Graduate School

  • The forty-fifth Graduation Exercises was held on June 25 at CGST campus with livestreamed broadcast. Rev Dr Samuel Chu, President Emeritus of the Bible Seminary of Hong Kong, delivered the address.
  • Pray for the class of 2022, that God will grant those entering full time ministry a humble heart to serve in faithfulness wherever God places them. Pray also for those who have completed the evening part time programs. May God use them to integrate what they have learnt and to witness Christ in their workplace.
  • We pray for the applicants who are being considered for the upcoming new school year. May God direct the selection process and give wisdom to the Admission Committee members.


Theological Education for All Christians (TEACh)

Theological Education by Extension (TEE)

  • Over 1,000 students enrolled in the 2022 Apr-Jun term. Due to the epidemic situation in Hong Kong, all classes were held online via video conferencing or as video-on-demand courses.

Word of Life Bible Study Ministry (WOL)

  • The online Bible study in Cantonese on the Gospel of John and the Bible study in Putonghua on the Book of Ecclesiastes was broadcasted globally between May 9 and June 29.
  • The regular Bible study classes in Macau, multiple cities in the US, Milton Keynes in the UK, Edmonton in Canada were resumed from April to June.

Sunday School

  • The first phase of Sunday School application was closed on May 15 with the next application window scheduled towards the last quarter of the year. The Ministry is now serving over 300 churches and Christian entities in 12 countries and regions.

Special course

  • “Meditating The Psalms Day and Night” was a three-week special course. Launched towards the end of March in light of the COVID surge, it was purposed to bring believers peace and light with The Psalms during times of distress.


Online Public Lecture

  • “Interpreting the Theology of Work in Ordinary Life” was the topic of the online public lecture co-hosted by CGST and Christian Communications Ltd on May 16. Dean and Abundant Grace Associate Professor (Theological Studies) Dr Jean Lee and Dr Celine Yeung, Assistant Professor (Theological Studies), were the speaker and respondent respectively.


Faculty Engagements

  • Dr Pan Yi-Jung, Lam Ko Kit Tak Assistant Professor (Practical Studies), was invited by Nanjing Union Theological Seminary to conduct two forums for their second class of Doctor of Ministry program between April 2 and May 2, during which Dr Pan also supervised five doctoral students who were preparing for their dissertation proposals.
  • Dr Lilian Li, Assistant Professor (Biblical Studies), attended the Regional Research Seminar Conference organized by Langham Partnership at Asbury Theological Seminary from June 1 to 25.
  • Dr Pan Yi-Jung was invited by the Trinity Western Seminary to conduct 10 lessons on the topic of “Spiritual Theology: Spiritual Traditions and Spiritual Formation.” in June.
  • Rev Dr Bernard Wong, President and S Y King Associate Professor (Theological Studies), was invited by Chinese Mission Seminary to deliver an address at their 33rd Graduation Services on June 12.



  • Treat Yourself Well in the Second Half of Life—Let Yourself Go is the newly-revised book in Chinese written by Dr Raymond Au, Carson and Virginia Mok Professor (Counselling Studies), which was published in April.
  • Dr Jean Lee’s new book in Chinese Studies on the Theology of Work was published in May.
  • The Church as a Healing Community: Pastoral Ministry amidst Disabilities in Chinese is the new book of Ms Wance Kwan, Philip Yeung Associate Professor (Practical Studies), which was published in June.


Finance Update

  • We give thanks to our God for His providence of the School’s financial needs for the first quarter of 2022 amidst tumultuous times with drastic changes. We continue to look upon the Lord for His gracious providence in the forthcoming months.
